It was founded at the onset of the conflict in Syria in 2011 by Syrian expatriates motivated by goodwill, under the UK Charity Commission, with its headquarters in London. In 2013, operations began in Turkey with the approval of the Ministry of Interior’s Associations Department. The organization has established offices employing over 1,200 staff in Syria and Turkey.
