Ms. Shireen Issa Kanhosh has over twenty years of experience in the field of education, with a strong specialization in inclusive education. She is a certified trainer in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin (USA) and the Aga Khan Development Network in Syria.
Between 2007 and 2009, Shireen served as the Director of a center for Autism and Hearing Impairment, where she contributed to developing tailored services for children with disabilities and their families.
Shireen joined UNICEF Syria in 2016 and currently serves as an Education Officer with a particular focus on inclusive education. Throughout her years at UNICEF, she has played a key role in strengthening collaboration with national partners to expand inclusive learning opportunities for the most vulnerable children. She has also worked with the Ministry of Education and curriculum experts to design intensive and empowering learning programs for out-of-school children.
She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration, in addition to several advanced courses in disability studies from the University of Jordan for Special Education.
Shireen is deeply passionate about children’s rights to inclusive education and strongly believes that every child has the right to learn, grow, and fully participate in their community.
